Yesterday Apple released version 26.5 of its operating systems. There are some things to be aware of with this operating system update as it pertains to Unread.
Shortcuts
Shortcuts run by Unread now need to end with a Stop this shortcut action, instead of a Stop and Output action. An updated sample shortcut and updated documentation is available.
Matter Article Action
The Matter article action requires installing a shortcut, and that shortcut needs updating to reflect the change described above. If you use the Matter article action, I recommend deleting your copy of the Save to Matter shortcut, and downloading the updated shortcut.
Keyboard Shortcuts on Mac
The keyboard shortcuts on Unread for Mac that do not have modifier keys (like ⌘), such as J and K for next and previous article, do not work as reliably on macOS 26.5. If you are interested in the technical cause, I have a longer post on my personal blog about a change on macOS 26.5 that causes this. I have a fix for this and hope to release it by the end of the week.
